At the CCC, our mission is to standardize the connected ecosystem around vehicles and devices with solutions that combine convenience, security, and privacy protections. As vehicle connectivity continues to evolve, setting global standards and fostering collaboration across industries has never been more important.
To further our commitment to innovation and leadership in this space, we’re excited to welcome Bahar Sadeghi as our new Technical Director. With an extensive background in wireless technology standardization and a passion for advancing connected mobility, Bahar brings a wealth of expertise and insight to the CCC.
We sat down with Bahar to learn more about her background, vision for the future of connected vehicles, and her goals in this new role.
Why did you want to join the CCC?
I’ve always been passionate about standardizing new technologies and helping bring them to market. CCC provides the perfect platform to make that happen. With so many exciting developments in the connectivity domain, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of connected vehicles and mobility. The CCC’s work to create secure, interoperable solutions for vehicles and devices deeply resonates with my background and interests, making this role a natural fit.
What unique expertise do you bring to the CCC as the Technical Director?
I’ve spent more than 20 years working on the standardization and certification of new wireless technologies, collaborating with organizations like IEEE, Wi-Fi Alliance, and Wireless Broadband Alliance. Those experiences reinforced my belief that collaboration and cross-functional input is a critical part of the product development process and enables innovation across industries.
I’m excited to bring that knowledge to the CCC and help shape the future of vehicle connectivity. Working alongside our members, I’m looking forward to creating standards that support interoperability, enhance the consumer experience, and move the connected vehicle ecosystem forward in a meaningful way.
Why do you feel a standard like CCC Digital Key™ is important to the automotive industry?
As vehicles become more integrated into the digital ecosystem around us, it’s essential for them to interact seamlessly with other devices. A standard like the CCC Digital Key™ ensures that consumers have a consistent and secure experience, no matter what platform or device they’re using. It simplifies access and control while providing reliability and interoperability, which are foundational for shaping the future of connected mobility.
What excites you the most about connected technology in the automotive industry?
I’m most excited about how connected technology is transforming how we interact with vehicles. It’s making those interactions more seamless, personalized, and secure. Integrating cars into the broader digital ecosystem offers endless possibilities, from enhancing convenience and safety to enabling new services. It’s an incredible time to be part of an industry that’s driving such innovative change.
What are some of the key considerations or challenges in promoting the adoption of connected car standards, and how do you approach them?
One of the main challenges is bringing together different parts of the industry, like automotive and consumer tech, that traditionally haven’t worked closely with one another. Organizations like CCC are essential in bridging that gap. They provide an ideal platform for collaboration, helping these diverse sectors align on common goals. By facilitating open discussions and shared standards, we can drive broader adoption and ensure seamless integration across the connected vehicle ecosystem.
Where do you see the industry heading in the next 5-10 years?
I see the automotive industry moving toward deeper integration with our digital lives, where vehicles are not only smart but seamlessly connected to other devices and infrastructures. Advanced and secure vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications will unlock exciting new applications for users. Standards and certifications will remain critical for ensuring interoperability, security, and privacy across the rapidly evolving connected vehicle landscape.
What goals do you have for the CCC in your new role?
My primary goal is to support CCC in maintaining its leadership in defining global standards for connected vehicle technologies. I aim to develop secure, interoperable solutions that enhance the overall consumer experience. By fostering collaboration across diverse industry sectors, I want to help CCC continue to set the gold standard in vehicle connectivity, driving both innovation and widespread adoption of these technologies.
What do you want members to know about your role?
As the Technical Director, my role is to facilitate the development of industry-leading standards and certification programs for connected vehicle technologies. I’ll be working closely with members to foster collaboration, ensuring that CCC continues to lead the way in shaping the future of connected mobility.
