CCC builds on global momentum through increased engagement in China, supporting member collaboration and CCC Digital Key™ adoption
SHANGHAI – April 23, 2025 – The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), the trusted source for defining how vehicles interact with devices and the world to enhance the consumer experience through standardized, secure, and convenient connectivity solutions, is advancing its strategic focus in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, particularly the Chinese market, through deeper collaboration with members and support for the adoption of the CCC Digital Key™. CCC continues to focus on building a secure, interoperable connected vehicle ecosystem by promoting certification, enabling localized use cases, and aligning with regional market needs.
As part of its efforts to foster on-the-ground collaboration, CCC’s APAC Director, Xiaoyu (Zoe) Fan, will attend the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show to connect with member companies and industry partners here. Based in China, Fan plays a key role in connecting CCC’s global initiatives with local stakeholders – supporting adoption of the CCC Digital Key™ certification and creating new opportunities for collaboration across the connected vehicle landscape.
“China is an important market for connected vehicle innovation, and it’s essential that we understand and support the needs of our members here,” said Fan. “With the CCC Digital Key™ Certification program, we’re bringing a standardized, secure, and convenient solution to the forefront – one that reflects the way consumers here live, drive, and connect.”
CCC’s deepening commitment to China and the broader APAC region comes at a time of continued global momentum for the organization. With more than 300 members, including most of the world’s top automakers, device manufacturers, and technology leaders, CCC is working to advance global standards in collaboration with its members and support the adoption of digital key solutions that prioritizes security, convenience, and cross-platform compatibility.
Last month, CCC expanded its CCC Digital Key™ Certification program to include Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies, building on its existing near-field communication (NFC) certification. This comprehensive certification supports a wide range of advanced digital key features, including remote access, passive entry, and passive start, while ensuring end-to-end interoperability and robust security.
CCC’s Activities in China:
- Ongoing Collaboration: CCC’s continues to work closely with Chinese member companies to support the development of localized use cases for digital key technology.
- Certification Promotion: CCC is focused on promoting the adoption of the CCC Digital Key™ Certification program in China, supporting implementation of NFC, Bluetooth® LE and UWB technologies.
- Standards Education: Through meetings and industry engagement, CCC aims to increase awareness and understanding of the updated CCC Digital Key™ certification standards.
- In-Market Presence: Fan is based in China and regularly engages with local stakeholders to ensure alignment with market needs and priorities.
“Our goal is to be the clear, unified leader in defining how vehicles interact with devices and the world to improve the consumer experience. Establishing a universal standard for digital key interoperability is a big part of achieving that,” said Alysia Johnson, President of the CCC. “To do that, we need to continue collaborating with manufacturers and technology companies in the APAC region that are known for their innovation and ability to drive progress. Zoe’s deep understanding and experience in this area make her especially well-suited to lead our APAC operations.”
